What a wonderful beautiful couple of weeks of perfect winter weather. Sunny cold weather with squeaky snow is rare in our area and when the sun shines, out we all go. All good things seem to come to an end but don't put the skis away yet.  Many activities coming up, and just maybe it will cool back down and snow some more. The photo is on the John Wayne Pioneer Trail east of Stampede Pass.

This Sunday's event is Treats on the Trail at Hyak sponsored by Snoqualmie Nordic as a fun way to keep up a nordic tradition.  Please go pay a visit and check out the big tent.

Coming up:

Saturday Jan 28th is Special Olympics at Hyak

Saturday Jan 28th is Ski For Light at Erling Stordahl

Sunday Jan 29th is the Jente Loppet race at Hyak

And as always, a ski or snowshoe Trek up to Meany

Mount Tahoma Trails Association "Tour de Huts" Saturday Jan. 28th

A perfect opportunity to have a change of scenery, and see what a dedicated group of volunteers can accomplish. If you decide to participate, be sure to pack chains and directions to the Sno-Park.  I would highly recommend a visit.

Please pay attention to WSDOT and NWAC when you head up to the mountains. It did rain ice pellets on the pass and there is a layer of "sugar" on top of that dry powder. Some trees may be quite loaded and those snow bombs can be quite heavy if they drop on your head.

Have a great weekend!
