snow! lots of it

February 10, 2017

What is that?  See the mirror?  Taken at Crystal Springs this week.  Yes, over 50" of snow there in this last round of storms. The snow removal folks have plowed huge amounts of snow. As most of you know, it's been a wild week of weather and the big warm up today which is ever so typical in our area. Snow level should go down with a bit more snow, so hopefully skiing will be good this weekend.

First - trail updates:

Grooming is cancelled for tomorrow - Friday - for the John Wayne Pioneer Trail from Crystal Springs (including the Crystal Dog Trail) to Hyak.  This also means no grooming on the sled hill.  There is an avalanche path on the JWPT so expect the groomer to do have to do some clean-up like they did a week or two back.

Lake Easton State Park groomed on schedule!

Easton Reload to Crystal Springs on the John Wayne Pioneer Trail will see a pass on Friday mid-day!  whoo hoo! Normally they groom Mondays.

Dog sled trails - hum....  big machine is still needing more repair as far as I know, and I doubt the snowmobile groomer can make a lot of headway in these conditions.  As soon as I find out anything, I will post to Facebook.

Cabin Creek and Erling Stordahl on schedule.  No South Loop grooming.

Events:

Kongsbergers Stampede Sunday

Give the trails at Suncadia a try.  Those trails are groomed by a big machine and a dedicated groomer operator.  These trails are free for now.  Golf course terrain - rolling up and down and curves.

Lake Wenatchee has an abundance of snow and is never as crowded as I-90.  You already have your pass right?
